I LOVE to HAVE NESTING DOLLS! :p

I always envy those little girls around me when i was young playing their different dolls when i have my so famous "cardboard barbie" (customized doll made of cardboard, face and body made out of coloring pens and crayons). My family is not rich and my mom can't afford to buy me beautiful dolls, especially the most famous "Barbie".

I was a typical girl who loves playing dolls when i was young. I was contented then, playing my "paper" dolls that i dressed up with paper clothes too :p

But when i learned about these nesting dolls, I've been always wanting to have one! Unfortunately until now, i didn't get any for myself. Who wants to send me one as a gift? Hehe :p

Anyways, Nesting Dolls originated from Russia in 1890, and is said to be inspired by a souvenir dolls from Japan (A set of Japanese wooden dolls representing Shichi-fuku-jin, the Seven Gods of Fortune). These were called "Matryoshkas". The concept of nesting dolls was familiar in Russia, having been applied to carved wooden apples and Easter eggs; in 1885, they had a nesting of egg, yolk, hen, and a chick. The doll which represents an old woman is often called a baboushka or babushka, that which represents an old man a dedoushka or dedushka.

Each piece must be carved paper thin (which means it requires the skill of a master carver).

A matryoshka with so many pieces is truly a rare find in the world of nesting dolls. The largest nesting doll stocked is a blank that 27.5" tall and has 70 pieces.
(You can count to checked if its 70pcs!)

The average nesting doll is 6-8 inches tall with 5-7 pieces, but i love to have these nesting doll below, it's a 12 inches, 30-pc nesting dolls! Weee! Sweet it is to have one! and guess the size of the smallest piece of doll in these nest? It's the size of a grain of rice! Whoah! These were hand painted, and matryoshka dolls artist uses magnifying glass to paint small pieces of these dolls.

If there is a large nesting dolls, of course they can be very small too. Smallest is a 1 inch, 5-piece nesting dolls below.

Another impressive sizes are a 1.5 inch doll, 10 pieces and a 3” doll with 15 pieces. Below is the 10 piece doll 1.5" tall and shows a piece of wrapped candy in the background to provide a sense of scale.

SWEET! Wish to have one soon!
